The Renaissance project was part of a decade-long modernization program at Baylor Scott & White's Irving Medical Center (BSWI). The project goals were aligned with the challenges that the medical center faced due to the rapid growth of the area. BSWI's modernization program required a design that would accommodate future needs while also maintaining the current facility during construction.
The Renaissance project was one of the largest medical projects in Texas, comprising several major components, such as an Exterior Envelope Face Lift, a New Entry Lobby (The Point), Interior Renovation, a Seven Story Bed-Tower, and a new Central Utility Plant (The CUP) to power it all.
Over the course of the 7-year project, numerous talented individuals worked on it, including Gabriel, who dedicated four years to the project. He was involved in both the design and construction phases of the project and was responsible for designing and documenting the exterior envelope for all exterior components of the project.
The presentation below showcases Gabriel's work on the Renaissance project.
