The new seven-story patient tower at Baylor Scott & White Irving Medical Center stands as a cornerstone of the institution’s decade-long modernization initiative, The Renaissance Project. Designed to address rapid growth, the tower enhances operational efficiency and elevates patient and practitioner experiences through thoughtfully designed amenities and refined spaces.
Strategically located on the site of the former central utility plant, the tower’s placement at the heart of the medical campus required intricate planning. The demolition and site clearance presented significant logistical challenges, necessitating precise coordination with the construction of a new Central Utility Plant (CUP). This carefully orchestrated process ensured seamless integration of the tower into the existing medical center without disrupting operations.
As the capstone of The Renaissance Project, the patient tower represents the largest project in Gabriel’s professional experience to date. The multi-year design and construction journey culminated in a facility that has been warmly embraced by staff and patients alike, who praise its comfort, sophistication, and contribution to the community’s healthcare landscape.
