In the rapidly expanding industrial landscape of North Texas, where over 70 million square feet of warehouse space is currently under construction, the Western Tech Systems Headquarters redefines the warehouse typology as a sustainable, human-centered workplace. Designed to meet the demands of the on-demand economy while prioritizing employee well-being, this project serves as a bold showcase of the company’s commitment to innovation and environmental stewardship.
As the Project Designer, Gabriel leveraged the site’s long, narrow proportions to maximize spatial efficiency and minimize resources used. The project was able to utilize non-load-bearing walls at each end of the warehouse with Cross-Laminated Timber (CLT) panels supported by steel columns, allowing for expansive glazing across the entry façade. This approach reduces the building’s carbon footprint while introducing a warm, natural material palette to the interior, creating an inviting and inspiring workspace.
The Western Tech Systems Headquarters exemplifies a forward-thinking approach to industrial architecture, balancing operational efficiency with sustainable design and employee-centric spaces. By integrating innovative materials, optimized layouts, and future-ready infrastructure, the project sets a new benchmark for warehouse facilities, harmonizing functionality with environmental and social responsibility.
